Will this small china cabinet match my existing dining table?
Usually, and it's worth a phone call first. Send us a photo or tell us who made it, and we'll say which of the six woods gets closest and which stain to put on it. Then we mail the sample so you can hold them side by side.
What's the difference between a china cabinet and a hutch?
A hutch is generally two pieces, a buffet base with a shelving top that sits on it. A china cabinet is built as one. That's why this works on its own against a wall without needing a base underneath it.
Can I add the LED lighting later?
Ask before you order. Lighting goes in while the case is being built, so it's simpler and cheaper to specify now than to come back to it. One phone call settles it.
Will wet glasses or spills mark the finish?
The catalyzed conversion varnish resists water and most household chemicals, which is what that finish is for. A glass set down and forgotten wipes off rather than leaving a ring. It's the same varnish used on pieces meant to be used daily.
Which of the six woods looks most traditional?
Cherry, and it earns it over time by darkening into a deeper red. Quartersawn white oak reads mission or craftsman because of the ray fleck in the grain. Brown maple takes stain most evenly, which is why it's the one shown here.
Can I use a small china cabinet for something other than china?
Constantly. At 49 inches with glass above and drawers below, people use it as a bar, for linens, for glassware, or for the things too good for a closet. The glass shelves just decide what gets seen.
Does it arrive assembled, or do I put it together?
Assembled. It's built as one piece in Ohio or Indiana and it arrives that way. Our team carries it into the room you choose, sets it in place, and takes the packaging with them. Nothing about this is flat-packed.
