Almost always. The top travels on edge, so 42 inches of width clears a 32-inch door easily. Tight stairwells and sharp hallway turns matter far more. Tell us the route and our delivery team plans it beforehand.
Is rough sawn barnwood uncomfortable to eat on?
No. Textured is the right word for it. The saw marks are shallow and sit under a clear topcoat, so it wipes clean and glasses stand level. If you want glass-smooth, choose one of our hardwood tables instead.
Is reclaimed barnwood as strong as new solid hardwood?
Stronger, usually. Old-growth barnwood grew slower and denser than anything milled today, and it has had two centuries to finish moving. Kiln drying pulls out the moisture that causes warping later.
Will kids and daily meals wreck a barnwood table?
Less than they would wreck a smooth one. This top already carries 200 years of dents, so new ones disappear into the ones already there. It is the rare dining table that looks better after a decade of use.
Does barnwood look too rustic in a modern dining room?
It works when the room around it stays simple. Barnwood brings the texture, so everything else can be clean-lined. Pair it with our upholstered or mission chairs and it anchors a modern room rather than fighting it.
Do hot plates or wet glasses mark the finish?
The clear topcoat resists both, though no finish is heatproof. Use trivets under anything straight off the stove. Water wiped up within a few minutes leaves nothing behind at all.
Can I cancel a custom farmhouse table after ordering?
Once your table enters production, it is built to your size and finish, so custom orders are final at that point. That is exactly why we mail a stain sample for your approval before anything gets cut.
