Is reclaimed barnwood strong enough for a dining chair?

Yes. Barnwood comes from timber that has already spent decades in a standing structure, so it's well-seasoned and stable. Each Almanzo is handcrafted from it by Amish makers in Ohio or Indiana, and backed by a one-year warranty against any craftsmanship defect. 

How consistent will a set of these ladderback chairs look together?

Beautifully coordinated. They're all built from the same reclaimed barnwood and finished in one stain, so a set reads as a set, with the natural variation that makes solid wood furniture feel real rather than mass-produced.

Are these actually made from reclaimed wood?

Yes, real reclaimed barnwood, not new wood distressed to look old. That's why the color shifts from chair to chair. You're getting wood with genuine age, not a finish imitating it.

Can I see the barnwood color before I order?

Yes. Because reclaimed barnwood varies, we send a physical stain sample on the actual wood before your chair is built. Hold it against your table and floor in your own light, and if it's not right, we'll send more until it is. 

Will these ladderback chairs work with a table I already own?

Often. Barnwood sits naturally with farmhouse, rustic, and traditional tables. Send us a daylight photo of yours and we'll tell you which stain gets closest before you order.

Can I order the Almanzo as a matching set?

Yes. There's a matching table and bench built from the same reclaimed barnwood, so the whole set shares the same wood and the same finish.

Why does the Almanzo take a few months to arrive?

Because it isn't sitting in a warehouse. Each chair is built after you order it, by hand, in the wood and stain you chose. Most orders arrive within the quoted build window, and some configurations qualify for Quick Ship if you need one sooner. Call and we'll give you a real date.
